Default Armor questions

Hey fellas, I was just looking to get some help on how to improve my armor.. so this is what i'm working with

Weapon - Stonereaper
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Stonereaper

Then armor wise its:
Head - Undertakers, +1 Curses, Minor soul reaping
Chest - Undertakers and Superior Curses
Hands - Undertakers and Vitae
Legs - Undertakers and Vitae
Boots - Undertakers and Superior rune of vigor

I have 475 health and 45 energy.. I feel like this is really low.

Can anyone help me out by giving me some recommendations? Such as;

If I was to get a 40/40 set what mods or inscriptions should I use?
If I was to get a spear set what mods or inscriptions should I use?
(Can I just use the weapons given from the BMP?)

Thank you so much in advance!

P.S. If it helps I'm just running an SS nuker build as seen here: http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:N/Me_SS_Nuker

Ok, some things.

*First off, stop using the old wiki.
Non-official wiki:http://www.guildwiki.org/Main_Page
PvX: http://www.gwpvx.com/PvX_wiki

*Secondly, Undertakers is terrible. +armor insignia generally give +10AL. For Undertakers to be on par with other insignia you need to be below 60% health and to outdo them you'd need to be under 40%. At these levels you're going to get healed so it's not really going to do anything for you. I'd go for Tormentors, Survivors (475 health is definitely low), or Blessed.

*45e is fine.

*40/40 set...
Wand:
"Aptitude not Attitude: "halves casting time of x attribute (20%)
Wand wrapping of memory: halves recharge time of x attribute (20%)

Focus:
Focus core of Aptitude: halves casting time of x attribute (20%)
"Forget Me Not": halves recharge time of x attribute (20%)

*Weapon skins don't matter so BMP weapons are fine.

*Spear set:
Spear: +5AL or +30 health
Shield: +30 health and (+10AL vs. <damage type> or -2/enchant (if you are enchanted most/all the time)).

This is exactly what I was looking for thank you! I think I'm going to go with survivor insignias I just hate having my health so low.

+armor is better than +health in PvE, and +health is especially bad for necromancers if you use sacrifice skills because then the sacrifice gets higher and you need to get healed more.

Minion Masters or Blessed insignia is your best bet. Tormentors is OK if you really want to run multiple armor sets but IMO its just more trouble than its worth.

For weapons, dual 20/20s just as Marty said. Shield set is really pretty much optional. When you die in PvE, its usually because something hit you for 300 damage and you died instantly, not like in PvP where the small difference is often enough to barely keep you alive 15 health away from death. By all means run a shield set if you like, but its hardly required or all that desirable for anything.

Like I said before, I am a major SS. I barley use anything else. So I think I may just throw on Survivors. Or should I do a mixture?

If all you do is run SS, I would go for blessed everywhere. +10 armor effectively means you take 16% less damage from the majority of dangerous enemies in the game. Your 480 health bar is effectively 90 health "bigger" because you are taking less damage than you otherwise would, and in addition your healers are able to keep you alive easier because their heals are "worth" more damage being done.

However, blessed says that only when i'm being effected by an enchantment spell. What spell would i be enchanted by?

You have Awaken the Blood, right? Even if not, enchants are flying around pretty much everywhere in high end PvE builds, to the point where you are almost always enchanted by something. Especially if you are taking damage.

So 475 health with all blessed would work better? or maybe.. 500 health with two survivor insignias then 3 blessed insignias?

You want to run +5 ARMOR spear and +10 armor insignia (tormentor's/blessed) unless you are MM-ing (run MM insignia for up to +15).

Curses/Blood: Tormentor's is best unless you're in an area where holy damage is rampant. (Scourge Vaettir in packs of 2-3 for example.)
Orders: Blessed
MM-ing: MM with bloodstained on hands

Armor insignia only work on the armor piece to which you attach them. So if you only put them on some pieces and not on all, you risk getting hit on a piece without the additional armor.
